I started as an astrologer which made that easier but FYI the two magic vendors I’ve found so far are at the ruins beneath the poison flower things just northeast of the dragon lake and east of the first enemy camp and right after you enter the liurnia region after climbing down the end of the broken bridge near the first big castle to the west
I have inadvertently invested pretty much all my stat growth to date in being able to 1h wield a curved greatsword that does over 300 damage when I enchant it. I always do stuff like this and wind up plateauing badly because I love to dex/magic sooooo much so we’ll see
going to liurnia early on seems good for mages in general because there’s someone there who will sell you a third spell slot
I have only killed one boss so far, but I have found a whole ton of them. Also got offed by a giant enemy crab in a sunken city while getting chased by…i dunno, let’s call them trolls. I’m like level 18 at this point, and most of that levelling happened while i was just exploring so much.
The horse sometimes feels like a cheat code in a good way until it gets murdered out from under you in the middle of an enemy camp and whelp OK that went poorly.
Wretched life is the best life. Nothing quite like getting to celebrate when you get a shirt.
I’m encountering consistent drops during some battles. The Tree Sentinel was one of them (not a spoiler, first post-tutorial enemy you’ll probably see) and it’s one of the smaller named ghoulies ive encountered. I’m guessing it’s some bug cuz otherwise the game runs super well.
I’m really impressed by how everything that makes this game easier actually feels good most of the time – especially when they can just as soon take the horse away from you. like, it’s not asking of me what sekiro did, or what going into demon’s fresh did for that matter, and it doesn’t feel any worse for it. if they want to do sekiro 2 after this then more power to them, but I would have guessed it was harder to actually move in this direction while staying true to their design principles than the opposite, so I’m really pleased.
I spent forever trying to kill Margit in co-op, with both strangers and sbutts, and it was a lot of fun but we also failed every single attempt*
Then after we ran out of summoning items I tried this:
And it was utter destruction, won on my first try, that jellyfish is nasty, fuck u Margit
*One attempt ended with me watching scratchmonkey land a solo kill as I faded to black…that was bad ass but, also, I wish I’d gotten credit for that win
Played for 5 hours yesterday and my Wretched is now level 4, has two pieces of chainmail and a +2 club.
Mostly I have some fairly distant bonfires unlocked. I reached the boss bonfire of a big old Manor with giant hands popping out of the ground and then warped out of there because I could barely scratch it. And I explored a little bit into a faraway mine which gave me five level 4 titanite items: I was excited until I realized they seem to be unusable unless I get crappier titanite first? That realization is what finally convinced me to go back near the beginning
Not outside combat. Same old as soon as an enemy spots you.
Use the dark human like skin character and start from there. Only one it doesn’t have a nose that was hit with a brick.
Defeated the Dragon… it’s actually a slow-mo version of the network test one.
Fuck yeah we can dual-weild/power-stance. No complication, just equip another weapons and left shoulder button.
Found Patches… made me happy.
i tried summoning a bunch of times in a cave, and the game kept crashing over and over once the other person loaded in, until it worked and then the boss was the joke Patches fight, he he he
giant crabs guarding a treasure corpse that ended up holding crab meat, he he he
I also can’t believe this game let me recreate THAT most troubling scene from Cannibal Holocaust. And even rewarded me with a strip of fucking turtle neck. Brutal, I felt kinda bad! Somebody tell me why killing a tortoise makes me feel way worse than killing a sheep, dog, goat, or deer.
I am having a brilliant time. Started as a Warrior, investing in Dex. Leveled up a bunch of times and beat three or four smaller bosses so far. I am currently still in the starting area but I have crossed the long bridge with the maddened pumpkin head on it, near the clay pot man stuck in the hole and I am now trying to do the boss fight in Summonwater. I found a lot of notes saying that I should do this battle while horseback but I am very bad at horseback combat. It’s just not very intuitive to me for some reason.
I found a witch in a cave in the waystone ruins and unlocked one (1) spell but I can’t use it. Do I need to hold a staff or something to use magic? I hope there’s a magic-casting device I can hold in my off hand at least, or I’ve invested in magic with no hope of using it, haha.
ALSO: the bloodstains do not work in my game at all. Are they down right now? I see plenty of notes and summon signs but the blood stains straight up don’t work
