I feel like faith would kick ass if you could put spells in your pouch slots, cast them with your weapon out, and they had shorter cast times. Like getting a bunch of dots out and then evading to victory. It lacks a really solid approach because toggling huge lists instead of rolling and stabbing is just a losing strategy in such a tightly tuned game

Does it need to be that hammer? Is it one of those that goes to +25? If no and yes then you might want to look at hammers that use somber smithing stones. Dunno why but I got those much faster. Thatās largely why I was so overpowered when I good the Dark Moon Greatsword (for just a brief timeā¦ the capital saw to that).
As to faith buildsā¦ Solo?
They are largely a support build, or a secondary to meele as buffs. And yeah the menusā¦ You really have to prepare everything before getting into conflict, or youāll stumble on your own feet.
But faith builds have mostly relied on support, and a few very strong spells. Solaire wasnāt the one introducing the player to multiplayer for no reason.
Faith builds are the ones that require a big investment in selling the interface right and coming to terms with it
Int is more of a āBAM got youā, while leaving you open to be kicked in the face.
But on both cases I think the way the player āgets usedā to dealing with the game makes them rely less on acrobatics, and when they get hit they get hit hard. At least I used to in a few runs of others FromSoft games.
There are a good number of Larval Tears scattered around the landmass where you unlock respeccing so thereās a fair chance you have one already.
Changing your characterās entire build even once sounds like a massive hassle unless youāve gone big investing in leveling up tons of different weapons. But if you went and put, say, 5 points into arcane so you could use a weapon that youāve since abandoned, or dumped 50 points into strength and youāre doing big time damage but still getting one shot by teeny ghouliesā¦respeccing will probably help some. I only did one respec and afterwards my character was using all the same gear and tricks as before, but better. It was a refinement rather than a complete overhaul.
I felt the same frustration you are and other people have. I canāt blame anyone for griping about having a rough time. Iām still sore about those putrid chrystallinines! But Iām a sickie, Iāve beaten this game twice now with very different builds, I know the grass aināt greener, baby, Iām calling out anyone who says it is

Iāve met Three Fingers. F**k. I think I screwed my run. Now I have burns all over my body, my eyes are glowing with madness, and level up lady decided to leave me and promised to kill me if I became Edge Lord.
Did I just locked my run to an edgy ending?

yes, this or some monster hunter style radial quick cast menu would be very nice!
frenzied burst has really nice range, itās a useful spell. but itās better to just farm the halo scythe and use that, itās WA significantly outclasses any incantation. better range, better damage, fast chain casting, good tracking, less FP than lightning spear. itās justā¦better

It can be reversed but youāll have to beat Malenia to do so. Which might be a fate worse than enveloping the world in madness, I dunno

From what I can tell you can also farm them from the silver tears that appear as rolling boulders in Siofra/Nokron. I killed the one in the cathedral (near the black whetstone) twice and both times it dropped larval tears. Also the other ones in that area dropped larval tears. I have like 10 now lmao
Iām sure you know this already, just wanted to mention it for anyone looking for respec items.

They canāt be farmed thereās a limit. Many people have reported two drops in close succession from the same boulder, but it seems to be some kind of glitch, since nobody has ever gotten three after killing it hundreds more times.
That said youād really have to use them like candy for the limit to be a problem

Iāve been quite thorough in my exploration for shinies and killing everything I find at least once. I have 14 so far and Iāve one, maybe two rebirths.
Only now got into the ice area, and still havenāt done the Vulcano Manor cause I decided to do the assassinations before exploring the manor.
Also thanks for the tip, I was probably gonna fight her anyway.

Torrent is a coward.
Exploring the Lands Around before I go back to the final boss. I finally got into the northern part of the map that was blocked from me and, from there, the bloody river place and the city past the Haligtree.
The city stacks a lot of enemies on top of each other (here, have an Erdtree Avatar), but I appreciate that the bloody river goes the extra mile to throw in NPC invaders with all the birds and dogs running around.
I did find an amulet that negates Holy damage though so my āplanā is coming together.
Edit: Unrelated, but I just learned thereās a greatshield + talisman combo that negates all stamina damage, allowing for infinite blocking. It sounds like the most boring possible way to break this game, but god bless.

Yeah by the end I was using them to make minor adjustments whenever I felt like it and at the end of the game I still had 8 or 9 left. I wasnāt trying and I think I had 16 or so in total
Honestly the biggest sinks in this game to respeccing are either learning new strats or the stupid somber ancient dragon smithing stones, of which there are only like six in the entire game and almost all of them are in the brace of the haligtree
Thereās something in the three sisters region that I canāt look at or else the game drops to around 2 FPS and i have no idea what it is. Must be something so terrifying that the game itself canāt bear to show it
