Would be nice if Sony did the same with Bloodborne.
OH yes they are absolutely the best at level design as jokes! from the first time u open a treasure chest in Kings Field and a skeleton jumps out ajd instantly splits your head in 2
i cackled when i killed the grafted thingy (first miniboss thats supposed to kill u) on ng+ and walked out to the edge of a cliff after it wondering what i would see next cuz i beat the impossible boss! and it collapsed under me and i fell to my death
I feel like encapsulating the basic idea of an action RPG in both its gameplay and its aesthetics is part of why the series is so cool to me. Sometimes these games are generic in the best possible ways where they become ideal representations
Like when Senās Fortress has swinging pendulums and big rolling rocks to me itās not derivative so much as itās a great iconic depiction of this sort of setting. I can see looking at that though and thinking āthis is the most basic thing Iāve ever seenā
i loved the reveal of senās fortress and its videogamey-ass design, i remember it confirming the idea the game had been implying that the world was in-universe designed as an undead obstacle course designed to produce maximally leveled-up subjects, but that the gods had made it too hard and no champion arose until things had deteriorated to the point of near-collapse
holy shit i just had an accidental wrong warp. (iām finally putting together a dex build before the dlc launches). the game locked up at the loading screen after i invaded juno hoslow, when i reloaded i was awarded his equipment as i fell out of the sky from a height of about 1000 feet and died before i hit the ground, then chose to respawn at the stake of marika, then it spat me out in the middle of the consecrated snowfield, which i havenāt unlocked the path to yet. neat
if im gonna replay this at some point before the dlc shows up, can anyone recommend some Sick Builds to try? i usually do dex weapons and or bleed builds in these games going back to having a wacky time playing lifehunt scythe in dark souls 1 but feel like a change now. halo scythe looks interesting!!!
just took out malenia on my replay, 1 on 1, dual wielding curved greatswords, not a spell to my name
just in time to take two weeks off and forget how to play again for the expansion~~
Iām glad the board title will finally come true in a fortnight.
Is a stew not just an edible poison swamp?
i really like this waiting an insane 28 christian months to release the expansion technique, iām actually going to play it at launch this time
edit wow not literally at launch, i do something with my partnerās family about once every three years and itās happening next weekend i just realized what the fuck
I played this game again for a little while tonight because Iāve forgotten everything about the mechanics and I figured I should at least become familiar again with the basics before trying the DLC.
Remembering that Iād been using an experimental build, I thought I might respec back to what I was more comfortable with. But then I realized that I donāt remember what that was, other than that I used a claymore (the weapon I always fall back on in these games).
Now Iām thinking that forgetting everything might be good. The new areas should be intimidating, after all.
Iām starting a new game to lead into the DLC. I would pick up my old save file, but itās sitting at the very beginning of NG+.
I left my original save right before entering ng+ and havenāt played it in a couple of years. Ready to straight into the dlc while working out the controls again
i didnāt do the mohg stuff in my original save and decided āi didnāt run into this naturally while playing, so iāll leave itā, which worked out pretty good as a lead in for the dlc
my save is ng++ and I canāt remember literally anything about how to play this game so uh a full replay is gonna have to wait until after megaten
I hear that your current NG+ state wonāt matter when you go into Shadows of the Erdtree. Thereās some kind of separate power/scaling mechanic to prevent this problem.
That sounds like something youād tell a kid in Bible camp
