I dreamed of a video game called Tall Tall Tower. It’s just a 2d platformer where you scale a tower using parkour and climbing. Except half the background art was AI generated. The plot is that you’re inside a deep abyss with no light and you want to steal video games that are shortly far up the tower. As the game progresses, malevolent spirits start chasing you so you have to keep climbing. Eventually you gain the ability to fly and shoot infinitely powerful machinegun bullets. There is then a half hour segment with beautiful music on loop where you just fly upward, before you get to the top where there’s light.
Last night 1/21 I dreamed that I kept pulling staples out of my tongue and every time I did there were more staples in it
Last night 1/22 I dreamed I got rich off of an even lazier food ordering app for rich people. It was called Yasumi, and it was marketed as “premium convenience”. All it did was ask a series of questions about allergies and such and then create a one button “order” prompt that just automatically ordered the most popular dish or two from a restaurant of choice via uber eats, grubhub, or doordash.
i dreamed i got sent a bunch of charts for daphaknee’s gemstone character and dream-me mistook them for a database that i had to build, and that i kept being like “wait, none of these tables even link together, what’s the primary key to these” etc but every time i asked about it everybody seemed to get more confused and stressed. it was one of those dreams where you know you’re misinterpreting things but are still locked into acting it out, like how sitcom characters must feel.
I have been having numerous terrible nightmares but forget most of them shortly after waking. The most memorable one involved me growing a second little toetip and toenail off of the top of my final knuckle on my little toe on my right foot. They became dislocated for some reason, and I had to pop all the bones back into place with my hands. It was painless but very strange.
I spent the rest of the dream riding around in a car with my friends trying to track down this elderly doctor who would be able to surgically remove the extra toe bit. He was the only doctor who could do it but he was so hard to find and so senile I was worried I’d be stuck with an extra toe forever. I was very frightened that its increased size and weight would cause me to strike or catch it on something and it would break or rip off gorily. That did not happen however. Then I woke up!!
I went into the office and my computer’s monitor was missing, and the amount of bureaucratic red tape I had to go through made me wake up mad and I am still mad.
dreamed I got adopted by will smith and it turned out he and his family’s favourite activity was stepping on a spring loaded bumper in the garden that launched them high into the air
My organization may have been a secular one, but the aggregate decisions we made when rebuilding our headquarters were to effectively create a house of worship. The leaded windows contained panels of stained glass, the symbol was a form of cross, and the basement (most damning of all) was storage for a kitchen and dining area/community hall. Beautiful equipment, though; pristine and new. Everyone was a little dumbfounded as I pointed out the facts above, but they didn’t appreciate it as much as they should have, and so their acknowledgement turned increasingly snide as I reiterated my observation, and as our exchange spiraled out of the realm of plausibility, it woke me up.
I had a dream about flying. I think it started with me being in a class and the teacher gave someone else a bad grade that was in the form pf a large sticker that was “like interacting with (my first name)” and this was meant to be a dig at my expense. I went to me checking out the teachers webpage which had…eevee pokemom webcomics on it for some reason. then the dream transitioned to a flying dream. I was in this huge syd mead style city and I was with a group of people who could transform into planes, they all transformed into birds? Then I transformed into one? or was flying one. some kind of saab drakken. Then the Concorde (Or rather, a Syd Mead style retro futuristic supersonic airliner) flew over among them and was going to buzz the airport and the force of this would hurt a lot of people so the dream transitioned to me on this airplane, the crew was introducing themselves in the cockpit, which was claustrophobic as it was round and had no windows. The front screen turned on and this was going to be how they piloted the jet. This made me anxious so I bailed and flew around again while the chorus of a smiths song played (how soon is now?). I was flying between buildings and such. such a phenomenal dream, really
Had a dream where there was a giant hornet thing in my house that seemed to be specifically targeting me, chasing me around. It was maybe about a foot long and colourful, with big eyes and a stinger that was like an inch or so long. It was just running after me instead of flying for some reason. I think I realised it was trying to kill me because it was working for the forces of darkness, and since I had played Dragon Quest XI, that made me the Luminary. Eventually I managed to get away from it by running into a room and closing the door, then my mother and brother chased it outside and locked it out. My mother didn’t want to kill it because she said it was beautiful and had never seen anything like that before.
I also dreamed that I was living in some kind of rusty steampunkish city with my two sons, who were anthropomorphic cats. There was some kind of apocalytptic cataclysm coming, like a nuclear explosion, so everyone was rushing to get away. I think it turned out the city was able to transform into a giant sphere, and there were these kind of nuclear bomb-proof spherical cells that were attached to the sides that were engineered to always be oriented so that you weren’t being tossed around as the giant sphere rolled around some kind of mesa maze.
My sons were locked into a different cell from me, and I was locked into one with some random guy. 20 years apparently passed in a flash, with there being apparently no electricity but we survived somehow using some metal wire based system that you could use to request food. I remember thinking about how my sons must look now after so much time has passed and whether they would recognise me.
dreamed I went to a comic convention and there was a 2nd book in a 3 part series that was dedicated to covering a huge tower. They were sold out of the 2nd book, and when they released the 3rd one the 2nd part would be out of print, and the only way to get the whole story was to buy the compilation volume. I remember being really annoyed by this on the car ride home and someone was like “you can just buy part 2 on ebay”
I dreamed I had to move into a university building that was a mix of navy ship materials and a mcdonalds play place / discovery zone architecture with features like whole rooms that were beds, slides ladders, etc. It kinda ruled. I was on the 200th story or so over looking an alpine mountain range and a huge lake that used to be a town. We were building bombs for fun and for a laugh we launched one at the mountain across the lake which caused an avalanche. The debris fell into the lake spectacularly. And at first broke something underwater which drained the water into a drain hole that was also a submerged football stadium. But a sunken aircraft carrier was dislodged from the lake bed and got sucked into the stadium drain hole. It was spinning around like a leaf in a bath tub for a few minutes before going down. It lodged in the hole upright, clogged the drain causing the lake to start rising rapidly flooding the university. We all looked around like “well fuck, hope no one figures out we launched the bomb, but also fuck school Im glad I dont have to go to class” then i woke up.
The tower had an ecosystem of little goblins and other monsters and you had to defeat the big bad not by fighting but by fucking up the ecosystem in such a way that the top of the tower was starved of resources. The trick was that you had to keep the tower residents from getting mad at you as you undermine them all. So you have to use a lot of subterfuge, stealth and use information to start shit between different groups.
The other day I had two dreams that lead to me vocalizing in my sleep, according to my boyfriend, who woke me up each time.
In one, I sensed that there was a malevolent evil in my bedroom at the top of some stairs, but I knew it was a dream somehow, so I figured since it was a dream I could just will the evil away. So I jumped and floated above the stairs until I got to my room, at which point a demonic wolf jumped out onto the head of the stairs and started growling viciously at me. At that point I was filled with genuine terror and started screaming.
The other dream, mobsters were holding me at gunpoint and started prodding me with their guns in the ribs, telling me to sing, so I started singing Old McDonald had a farm.
classic “teeth falling out” dreams really elevate to a new level now that i have invisalign and my teeth/jaw area have a 24/7 background hum of discomfort. woke up and had to visually check to make sure they were all still there
