Had a dream where I had to carefully explain the whole Elliot Page/Jordan Peterson thing to someone who was not terminally online. Also, I kept on running into an old flame from college and it was just as unworkable now as it was back then. (These plotlines somehow never intersected.)
Hate it when dreams find multiple ways to sap my emotional energy before I even wake up.

Forgot to say, last night I had a dream I was on some kind of road trip but suddenly found myself needing to get back into a city very quickly and somehow this involved @DaleNixon telling me to hop into his Bronco and then he proceeded to drive on some elevated train tracks (much to my alarm, but he pulled it off).

Had a dream where I lived in this commune that was next to a gravel pit and under a bridge/overpass. The initiation was having me walk into a yard with a bunch of sculptures and when I passed they all gave me a big hug. I met someone I know IRL in the dream and was like “oh yes we’ll have to share our memories of this sometime in the future”. Right near the end I think someone was doing a bunch of commercial art within the commune as a way to get clout which is about when I woke up.

I was my current 40 year old self but for some reason my parents had to drop me off at my old grade school where I had to spend the night in a sleeping bag in the gym by myself. I was worried about getting woken up by rats or bugs crawling on me since I seemed half aware that the school had been closed for over 20 years.
I brought my Switch.

i had a dream that was an entire extended conversation with an unknown other person about the movies ‘almost famous’ and ‘jesus’ son’. most of it was about me trying to explain what jesus’ son was like, and i think the most dreamlike aspect of it was none of this involved talking about the actual plot.
the only thing i can remember saying about it clearly (other than the billy crudup connection) was “it is really good” “they don’t make movies like this anymore” and “it’s like what a pretentious person thinks being unpretentious is like”

Had a dream that the neighbor was moving out and had a collection of hundreds of cars which I got to look at, but at some point in the past he stopped collecting cars and started collecting videogame stuff and had an entire huge room in the basement just for very ordered collections of each game. Something about a bunch of abandoned cars just gets me I guess

I had a dream that officially moving into a home in a new school district opened up the possibility that I’d need to go back to high school. But after a while of figuring things out I went “wait, why do I have to go back to school? I have a high school diploma, I have a bacherlor’s degree and a professional certification? I’m done with school!” and then I woke up.

I was living in a big house with some of my old roommates and some other friends, and I came home to find them and a bunch of other people including out of town touring musicians I know painting on canvases, like some weird fad has suddenly hit. Then a bunch of the people who were there that I didn’t get along with went outside where some of them laid on the ground while the others beat them with giant carpet covered boards the size of parking blocks. We watched this go down over a fuzzy security camera and couldn’t figure out if we needed to intervene.
Somewhere in there I was on vacation with some friends in Chicago and based on a misunderstanding about who was handling the bill we accidentally dined and dashed from a really fancy Pizza Hut/hotel bar that we were killing several hours at before meeting my dad at some old movie palace. I went back to the Pizza Hut the next day and had to sort it all out.
At some sort of outdoor party/bar backyard we ran into some other friends who I haven’t seen in a long time including one who suddenly had a twin sister. There was a precut breakable prop glass window in little wooden set in the middle of this yard, and once the sun went down the twins plus someone else dressed up like Run DMC and were filmed smashing through the glass, then the little wooden set was burned. The actual proprietor of a local bar who does actually do performance art seemed to be orchestrating the whole thing despite this still being at some mystery location in Chicago.
There were police helicopters at some point too.

I dreamed that some Russian compiled a ranked kill list of furries and therians with me on it and drew a picture of a furry getting it’s throat slit and sent them to me, but the picture was sort of good so I tried to commission them to draw art of my fursona.

I was at an amusement park that was hosting some sort of found object diorama contest/pinewood derby for edgy teens. There was a Fisher Price house painted with Sartre quotes and a car powered by an eggbeater that the guy said he was going to kill himself with.
There was also a child therapist who prescribed that their patient get into Garbage Pail Kids.

I had a dream of some kind of amazing visual gag based on how ruler means both “king” and “thing you use to measure stuff” that was a picture of a classic desk ruler and then a picture of a pile of ashes with a crown on it. But I can’t remember what the captions that were supposed to make it such a good joke said
