Neo Contra U.S. vs Japan covers
Somehow, Japan got the ugly 3D model cover and we got the Jim Lee art (which focuses on the techno samurai instead of the neo roman)

that last one just looks so fucking cool
all games in this series seem absolutely wonderful – apparently they were/are very popular in china. there are still ports, remakes and sequels being released on mobile in east-asian territories. too bad they haven’t been translated much

Kururin Squash, another one for my backlog of stuff I’ll never get to. The GBA ones are very good but I seem to remember the first one has a gentler difficulty curve and has an English version although text is minimal and it’s pretty intuitive to play anyway.

I bought Kururin Squash from a Japanese computer store on 5th Avenue and I played it a lot and kept saying it was maybe a notch or two below Drillland on the List of Greats but I’m not sure if that’s actually the case or if I was just really enthusiastic about owning yet another Elite Import
Those games are cool though, they all shoulda come out in America.
