Doom wad reviews
lmao those enemies. i always wanted to like Blake Stone more than i actually did as a kid because it had a handful of cool ideas in it that werenât a thing other FPSes at the time were doing. i liked the shareware episode of Aliens of Gold and actually did the Apogee mail order thing to get the whole game (and had to wait many weeks, etc). was pretty disappointed when i got the whole game. i feel like the shareware episode being suspiciously better than the rest was a pretty common experience with those Apogee published games (other than the id software ones).
when i played blake stone at a friendâs house, i really liked it just because it told you the names of the monsters when you shot them. i just liked it when games told you the names of monsters lol
same, the Super Mario World credits were the best thing Iâd ever seen at the time.
I never did find Torpedo Ted and it haunts me to this day
i would have lost it if i ever saw an ad for Doom on tv as a kid. they never showed any tv ads for PC games!
Yeah, all I remember was the one for I think the Jaguar port that had a fiery preacher talking about how you must face your demons and then shoot them right between their beady yellow eyes or some such.
EDIT:
Yep, Jaguar.
a peek at a universe where all games with physical conflict are âfighting gamesâ and walksims are divided into a dozen grognardy fan genres
Started off as a pseudo-sequel to No End in Sight, with veteran mappers of the Back to Saturn X and Doom the Way id Did series.
The ESRB rating should be part of the HUD at all times. It should also be dynamic depending on whatâs going on!
Made me think of this
Bionic Commando rated T the entire game until it flips to M during the 3 seconds where Hitlerâs head explodes
