this showcase is a massive snore

fairgame$ looks maybe interesting mechanically but tonally i’m unmoved (except maybe in the opposite direction of this game)
helldivers 2 made me hope they were making a starship troopers game. didn’t play the first one, but the trailer didn’t do anything for me
immortals of aveum, again, is tonally offputting but hey, first-person-spellcaster could be alright. not a fan of the absurd amounts of effects on-screen, very distracting
ghostrunner ii at least looks cool.
phantom blade (0?) looks boring as fuck to me. that running animation fails to impress. combat in the trailer looks funky in a not-good way. every scene is weirdly muted/monochromatic? “what’s your plan, knowing you have only 66 days to live?” uhh, play a different game probs
sword of the sea gonna be a nope from me. i could be wrong but this appears to be another vibes-based game and i’m not here for it

notes:

  • i hated alan wake 1 with an extreme passion, so i cannot be excited for a new one. 'drather see a control 2 or something
  • marathon is described as a “PvP extraction” shooter…
  • MGS shit is probably gonna be embarrassing? lol

at least capcom showed dragon’s dogma ii and more SF6, but i’m not into much of what i’m seeing

PS5 still looking like the weirdest console purchase I ever made

Excited about Dragon’s Dogma tho

Alan Wake 2 and Dragons Dogma 2 both have the potential to be much much better than the originals I think, I’m fairly optimistic

there really aren’t many studios whose long delayed next generation efforts I’m enthusiastic about while still being fundamentally enthusiastic about the idea of a next generation so I’ll take em

this Project Q thing is very funny

I was like a half decade ahead of everyone on the whole “get good wifi and a gamevice” thing and while I happened to be far more enthusiastic about then-current releases, big platforms were obviously leaving money on the table by not explicitly supporting these and I’m glad they’re catching up.

i hope alan wake 2 is still wryly laugh-out-loud funny like the first game. the fucking coconut scene and alan’s internal monologue talking over NPCs killed me

i have no stake in this thread other than seeing the invention of a new, immediately understandable contraction. i love this

Marathon is designed from the start as a PVP-focused game and won’t have a single-player campaign. Instead, with the PVP experience as our foundation, we’re creating opportunities for player-driven stories to unfold, stories that are integrated with the overarching game narrative. We’re building a world full of persistent, evolving zones, where players create their own journey with every run they take. That might mean an unforgettable firefight against another crew vying for the same loot, or a last-second extraction while beset on all sides.

Beyond just the “story of your last run” however, we want to give players the chance to affect these persistent zones and the larger world as a result. For example, imagine a crew discovering a previously undiscovered artifact that, when activated, opens a new area of the map for all players to explore. In essence, we’re creating a game where the actions of players can have ramifications for the world and players with each unfolding season.

I saw this elsewhere and knew SB would be so disappointed by this. =/ Chasing that GaaS and ending up with fumes.

I think bungie can make it work but I don’t think I’ll be willing to keep up with the meta

What is the appeal of project q supposed to be over the ps5 controller you already have to have and an ipad mini you can use for something other than wifi only game streaming

Sony doesn’t make iPads and that ecosystem demonstrably bewilders people

like when I first started using moonlight on an iPhone people’s first response was that I must have jailbroken it

laughing imagining spiderman getting showered down the drain

Wonder if they’ll wreck the remote play app to try and sell more of this thing

iPad minis don’t have any switch style controller situations. It is bewildering.

I bought a backbone one for my Pixel4a.

I don’t understand the appeal of the PSQ unless you can also play PS2 games on it natively.
