I probably should’ve slept on this before posting to itch but life’s a mess rn and it’s in the spirit of my new intention opening things up a bit and being looser (and this is a loose shaggy barebones thing, couldn’t really call it a game, a curiosity for the curious (I also reposted the prototype from the Kickstarter (ah, the pangs of that word (luckily I have a pretty small group of patient/friendly/forgetful backers <3)))) and I gave myself a deadline to post a something on the 1st of June…in just under the wire!
lots to say about ol’ Happy Hell and I would like to do so here going forward. pretty wiped right now >_< but the short of it is…I still like working on this damned thing! obviously it’s been something of a hot mess but the last 5 months I’ve deeply grappled with like how this thing can and should probably play according to my abilities and interests after going down a lot of dead ends that I apparently needed to see the end of to be like, “ah, yeah that’s not it”. I neither can nor do I want to make a damn Mario-type classic throwback platformer, but like…The Manhole with Mario (-esque, close enough kinda!) controls and subvert some of the expectations from that goofy ass beast known as the 3D Platformer.
anyway! maybe I should make a thread for the game? I bought a small box of wine at Trader Joe’s this afternoon as a treat if I accomplished my task and I shall go sip that now. will see if I wake up to comments that the game crashes immediately or something haaaaa
edit: already tired thinking about posting updates to youtube/discord/KS/all the channels (and I don’t have that many channels even!) but SB got it first
