you know I really do think Faxanadu might be the best-looking Famicom game, or at least the most-looking one

instead of room titles, like any upstanding isometric game, Midnight Mutants (Atari 7800) randomly pulls loading screen tips

you playing these right now? i’m looking at going through all of the games in the near future

toe-dipping; I’ve never finished a Deception but I love to spend an evening in them.

The first game is the only one in first-person and it gives it sort of a dungeon-builder feel, which I like a lot, even though it makes it harder to see and use your traps. That’s the one I would go deeper in first.

I’m always fascinated by the Deception games but find them too cruel to actually play

(Re posting in the good thread)
I’m not sure about the Chloe Grace Moretz anime cop Platinum action RPG (it’s a little messy) but the menus are gorgeous

All these available menu colors look good

I think the first few, at the lowest-fidelity, hit the best balance between ridiculous gratuity (“Perfect Genocide” on that stat screen is, wow) and cartoony and abstract-enough depictions that it sits ok.

From the second game they start leaning into the ‘innocent girl corrupted into sadism’. I didn’t realize how bad it would get until I played the fourth one on PS3 and had to back out pretty fast.

The uh, the excuse me what now
