i guess hang on jr. is a port of hang on to cheaper hardware, for the arcade operator on a budget? i like the big chunky pixels and slightly more sparse music, though.

If a lot of the Definitive Edition’s assets were run through an algorithmic upscaling tool, I could see an impressionistic painting coming out like this. not sure this confirms anything but I am suspecting there was a heavy reliance on those tools in making this version.
