Den of Screenshots (Part 1)

The input mode being called this because Rogue was originally done on terminals with no numpad, unlike the keyboards used for later PC and Mac ports, which could use the numpad for character movement, so you had the following mappings:

This is handy for those people who had learned roguelikes on terminals, or, for those people who had laptops, which didn’t have numpads.

I love everything about the narrative of this game, but this quote is DANGEROUSLY close to shit that wine moms say on facebook.

the game contains all realms of gun thoughts, and whose to say where a fudd begins and a wine mom ends

The biggest laugh I got is that the entry on revolvers says “obviously better than automatics” and the entry on automatics says “obviously better than revolvers”

That and how angry fudds in the Steam discussions get over the “Glock leg” phenomenon even though every time someone at a gun store shoots themself in the leg it’s always a fucking Glock.

There’s a third entry in that set, that says that obviously what you’d want for reliable self-defense is a shotgun.

I also like all the merciless mocking in the Desert Eagle entries.

Making me want to stream Receiver 2 even though I already played it exhaustively and got everything I wanted out of it

I did levels 1-4 on stream today and had some really tense ammo dry spells, and some very close calls. I bet it would surprise you somehow if you went back to it Cuba.

But my skills, my atrophied skills

oh hey I was taking pictures of this last night

it’s so happy to use extreme contrasting color zones and they do it so well

that pitch-black red triangles room in level 2, and the blue reveal, and the trap door – it’s like a laser tag arena in glorious 3D
