Being made to cross this desolate beautiful landscape multiple times and then linking it to the network and scaring it with Online and your own buildings is one of the most powerful statements on America/humanity that Iāve ever seen in art.

Iām still getting my ratings up to five stars with everyone in the first area. The guys at the wind farm and port knot city are really stingy! Granted with the guy at port knot city I was the one who told him his brother was dead so I can see why he might not so appreciative but what did I do to the guy at the wind farm? I literally climb up and down a fucking mountain every time I visit that dude and heās like thanks and Iām like yeah thanks for nothing asshole.
Iām just kidding though Iām pretty close to having both those guys as well. Canāt wait to get back to the next area and see how much progress has been made on the highway.

I waslike the only forum member to play it but really shocked how much Metal Gear Survive is in this.
Getting crystals, Make shift structures that deteriorate with time, alternate dimensions, faceless space-time monsters, holding your breath through poisonous air, trying to get a communication system up and running, health and equipment degradation

i just did the mission with the chiral artist and while itās neat they obviously used her original actress to do the english read (and i have no doubt she did her best) woah it sure did give this bizzare flavor to the whole thing.
it feels especially strange since this very dramatic side-story pops up out of nowhere and disappears just as quickly. like they spent so much money on that acting and performance capture!! they didnāt need to do any of that! what tremendous effort! no other game would do that.
at the same time, itās cool to actually see someone come out of their shelter and not just have a world full of talking holograms.
anyway, i love it.

tim did a video of this where he played with bennet foddy and he mentions this too, his hypothesis is that survive was probably already in some form of pre-production when the Konami Kerfluffle went down. iād believe it. also thank you for playing survive for us. as an addendum, i saw a japanese twitch streamer doing a āletās study english!ā stream with localized Steinās Gate as the study material and i screamed and then thought of you

This is also noteworthy as a big masculine AAA game where you straight up CANNOT kill any humans (at least where Iām at, toward the end of chapter 3). I would guess you can kill MULES later on, but still, itās cool that this is a popular, massive-budget game where the entire thrust of it revolves around delivering packages without hurting anyone. Itās weirdly situated firmly within the Animal Crossing / Giftpia milieu.

I just love the feeling of carrying a heavy pack up a mountain. Its hitting my boyscout backpacking nostalgia zone really hard. I just wanna hang out on these video-game mountains and get really good at traversal. Im only 5 hours in but Ill prolly play this game forever. Its just so chill when its not being really tense.
What Iām really looking forward to is cracking open the potential of the tools available. Hopefully this game doesnāt have the equivalent of the smoke jeep.
Yall are right though the CAMP delivered by pro actors is pretty wild.
This is the most delicious thing Iāve played in forever.
Im hungry for more.

Itās made me realize how much easier it is to tell a story when the protagonist isnāt a murdering psychopath. Although in Chapter 4 They have a mediocre dream shooting section and Sam too easily accepts the suggestion of killing Higgs. The idea of Sam killing his first person could have been played with a little more.

I have 13 stars! I just started the second row. Iām also a level 200 āGreat Transporterā and the game told me new challenges unlock once I reach āCourierā. Iām assuming these are additional challenges for the standard orders, so like a time limit in addition to a damage limit or whatever.
I still need to meet up with Mama at her lab and get on with the story but Iām in no rush. I kind of stopped caring about the story but maybe Iāll start caring again when I get back to it. But now I have a level 3 speed skeleton which means I can get more stars even faster.

yeah same. been really enjoying dicking around and exploring in a way that i havent since botw, though exploring in this sometimes manages to feel more jrgent and desperate and sometimes more casual and laid back. freeways help.
you know travel its good when they give you the fast travel option 2 chapters ago and i havent used it all
