I really don’t think this looks like a David Cage level disaster? Like one of the hallmarks of Cage is that he constantly pats himself on the back for very mundane ideas. Like ‘robot uprising’. The other is horrendous gameplay.

(I still remember how my interest in heavy rain plummeted once I found out how hard to control walking was)

Death Stranding’s story might be awful, sure, but there’s so many ideas here that are batshit weird and interesting. Like the trailers alone are conceptually and aesthetically interesting even as a disaster.

And the glimpses of actual gameplay make it look like…Metal Gear Solid V, which is one of the best stealth games ever made.

This looks like it’s going to be a competent open world game with delightfully kooky writing. That just sounds good to me.
