Circuit City on the Edge of Forever

Technically from the PS3 generation! Put another way, anything built with the PS4/XB1 in mind is probably going to be rough because of higher VRAM ceilings on those consoles.

Hopefully this doesn’t matter for your use but I definitely wouldn’t get one new

I’ve been watching videos of sketchy budget computer components. Someone please stop me from building a fire hazard just for fun.

I have enough chargers already but I couldn’t resist buying a GAN II charger.

Seems like the real deal. It’s barely larger than my previous favorite 65W 2-port first-gen GAN charger

how dodgy are URL shortening services? is tinyurl ok to use?

Depends what you mean by that. If you see one in a spam text message or something, there’s probably something dodgy at the other end of it

If you mean create your own short URL to squeeze in a tight space somewhere, tinyurl and many others are fine as far as I know

oh yeah sorry, i meant for me to use to shorten a long link

Nobody tried to stop me. I’m building a dirt cheap SFF PC with spare parts I had lying around and cheap/questionable stuff to fill in the gaps for no reason whatsoever.

I never want a circuit board “destined” for anything

Anyone got a recommendation for a cheap-ish bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo? Looking specifically for something without a numpad, but with home/end keys. I don’t really care about anything but Narrower Than My Current Keyboard and Doesn’t Feel Like Shit To Type On.

I don’t have a specific recommendation, but it might help to know the keyword for a numpadless keyboard is “87 key”

logitech g300 series is always good for mouses

My k380 was like $30 and I love it almost as much as my mechanical brown 10keyless so there’s that.

ive got a logitech g305 that isn’t bluetooth (their own tiny dongle thing) and it rules, seems to get marked down a lot, i think i paid like £25?

apparently this has been the fault of the ps3 controller. never has a single peripheral ever given me so much grief as a ps3 controller plugged into a pc

It’s alive! It works! I’m alive (for now)!

Holy shit this bios lmao!

The super cheap “Machinist” memory I bought is running at 1866Mhz. It should be at least around 2133, but I haven’t tried to tweak stuff yet.

This guy is really informative and kinda inspired me to do this:

Roughly equal, yeah. I’m obsessed with the big brown Noctua gear.

I love how I can’t figure out how to remove things from the pre-checkout “cart” on Aliexpress like I’m now bearing a javascript curse

Edit: ok there’s a trash can

I spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to message a seller this week.

Gotta back out and go to messages and find your auto-generated convo.
