i’d love for this thread to encompass all heavy music!
so lucky to have seen tragedy at the tonic lounge in portland before that place got bulldozed
I can’t vouch for… almost any of these bands, but figured someone might care about this here.
i’ve heard of like two of those! very interesting seeing gavin rossdale in there, in any case
accidentally was recommended this video again and it’s oh so good.
bought a shirt from the guy who’s the front-man a few years ago and he was super nice, hope he and his family are doing fine
my favorite nuit noire track will always be “scrapheap!” for its righteous anger toward vehicles which cause roadkill
here’s some stuff:
Just remembered that I posted on the same message board as the drummer for this band when he was first putting them together, getting signed and working with the producer to record an album.
yes, good
r.i.p. if you try to buy merch tho
staring to find my stride in regards to bands i like i think
Anyone into funeral doom? Saw Pallbearer on friday. Bell Witch was supposed to open, but canceled, so Mike Scheidt from Yob came up and did a solo acustic Yob set.
Only a boring surface-level interest, but feel free to share what you like. I’ve been thinking that my next musical project should be getting into doom more generally.
I really fell off with keeping up with metal in the past year or so after having a bad experience with some metalheads. I’ve been meaning to get back into it and December is probably as good as a time as any because of the plethora of year-end lists every metal blog puts out.
Oh shit, I know His Hero is Gone, but had no idea about Tragedy.
In funeral doom news, Ahab is coming out with new stuff. Which is good, although that song is… fine.
It’s bringing up the problem I have with doom generally, and was a big hurdle for me on the latest Skepticism album: why the fuck do they record doom albums line-in? It is genuinely confounding to me.
Ahab is coming right out of releasing a live album and like,
how could you go back after that?
