In this thread I would like to see the average quality of games where you can play as a catgirl. So for example:

in this example, ffxiv is a game where you can play as a catgirl, and i have given it a “yes”’ as in “yes, this is a good game.”
Skyrim - yes

Skullgirls - yes
Ms Fortune
With this example set of information we can see that 100% of the games I am currently thinking about with catgirls are good games. That’s a good rate. Once we’ve added a good chunk of data we can finally get a larger reading on the percentage of games that feature catgirls and whether or not most of those games are good.
my girlfriend brought up this example and literally asked me if there would be a neutral option -and i said i didn’t know and said i’d come back to it later. i showed her your response and she gave you a thumbs up
they drop some errant lore around the big fountain in Fontaine which amounts to it being a tradition for the expecting parents to come to the fountain and wish really hard about how they want their child to turn out
this is combined with the fact that all Fontainians are made up of primordial water and they technically don’t have a set appearance and you get why Lynette is a catgirl but her brother, the magician twink (respectful) Lyney, is just a human; because her parents decided to be assholes
i got kinda rolling with ffxi last year and decided it was good but too big for my life now so i’ll go with “yes”.
there’s also stuff like xenoblade and disgaea but i don’t have much experience with those games to give them a yes or a no. i do remember the humor in disgaea not being my style. anyway, there are also other types of games that definitely have catgirls. would the inclusion of those games sour the whole thing? maybe! good thing i don’t know what those games are!
to clear up any confusion, i put together this chart. for some reason i couldn’t figure out how to get them to display what i needed, like they kept asking for more information, so i just put all the stuff in a table.
this is only the first iteration, however i do think maybe this thread has shown that there needs to be more catgirls in games so maybe this is it.

7th Dragon has a couple classes with catgirl options (depicted is the Fighter). they’re all very cute but why the fuck is there 4 Princess portraits and yet not one of them is a catgirl
Etrian Odyssey 5 lets you play as catboys or rabbit girls, but you may freely conflate the two at your discretion by gender swapping the voice samples & applying your own headcanon. and that’s why it’s the best most underrated EO
