yay!! we always had campaigns about this every year at work. or like discouraging people from getting clownfish when a nemo movie came out, or not getting a dalmatian if one of those movies came out, etc. its actually a serious problem!

Moz has had chronic vomiting issues the entire time I’ve had her. But in recent years it’s become much more problematic. It took many visits with my vet (who is a really great vet) before we were finally recommended to do an ultrasound. I guess some additional alarm was added to the situation when she began to lose weight and finally when it was discovered her intestines were feeling a bit thicker. Well, after a Halloween appointment for a scan, we’ve learned she has a cancer called small-cell lymphoma of the intestines. Luckily, it’s an easier cancer to treat in cats and our plan with prescriptions and diet changes is both somewhat affordable but definitely clear. Even the risks seem clear. So for a life threatening diagnosis, this old cat is being dealt as gentle of one as can be. Which is good because she deserves it. I love her a lot.
Just gave her her first chemotherapy pill a little before I took this one today.

zaku had her hand under the fridge and was growling so i thought she had found a bug and i went down there to cheer her on, then i noticed one of her toys under there and she started getting more desperate and oh shit shes stuck so i started trying to help her and she started flipping out and flailing and i was afradi she was going to snap her stuck foot clean off and so i tackled her and tried to hold her still and slide her foot out while she was biting me harder than ive ever been bitten by a cat before but shes out now and has her toy and is purring. but dear god that was the fucking scariest thing that happened with zaku so far hopefully it stays that way

I have had so many cats that love to play “help, my toy went under the fridge” and then bat it right back under there the second I get it out
at least a couple of them have immediately turned it into a game when they want attention and it’s always funny to have to be like, on my side on the kitchen floor with the phone flashlight and a big stick
