I like how the one on the left looks mean as hell in every pic but the one on the right starts normal and gets progressively more mean in every pic

My friend tells me that the one on the right, in spite of being the smaller gal to the larger guy, is the brave one and the leader between the two.
Last night they were outside the door hanging around, so I opened the door to watch them and talk to them, and they were constantly rubbing up on each other and giving each other affectionate headbutts; with the guy standing behind, and the gal in front, protecting him, frequently turning around to nuzzle in and reassure him.
It was one of the most heart meltingly adorable things I’ve seen in a long time. Maybe if I see it again I’ll manage to get a video.

last Friday, we acquired a new kitty
purely coincidentally, it was the anniversary of the day i adopted Soma. the week prior, i’d prayed to Soma for help picking a new cat. it’s weird - i never prayed before, but i try to do it once a day with Soma since he passed.
