WOW WHAT

WHere is it, is there a full dub

I always forget Love & Berry was actually popular in English speaking regions (outside of the US)

afaik, this trailer is for pitential licensees, who might want to buy and dub the movie themselves.

i watched Evangelion 3 Fast 1 Furious and… pretty sure it ended almost literally on the thing that was dismissed as an escapist fantasy in the final episode of the TV series. so you can just rewrite the world the way you want it to be after all, instead of having to cope with the real one? embarrassing mess

I’m really enjoying Mashle: Magic and Muscles, which is about a muscle freak gym bro named Mash Burnedead, in a world where everyone else uses magic and he goes to a harry potter school so the magic cops will leave his dad alone cause non-magic people aren’t supposed to exist.

mashle: magic and muscles — MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES PV [04.07 00.00 JST]

he’s an idiot who can never tell whether you push or pull a door so he’s always breaking them and then can’t figure out how to fit the door back in but he’s able to do everything the magic people do just by being strong

a while ago (last year, maybe?), i backed a kickstarter for a dvd release of the underrated 90s cartoon the legend of calamity jane (seriously, it’s like girl wild west btas).
a while after that, discotek bought themselves the rights to release a blu ray of the series, causing some confusion and anger among backers of that dvd kickstarter.
today, i received a copy of the discotek blu ray release, which i never ordered from anywhere, so i assume the dvd kickstarter people have just kind of given up and bought everyone who backed it a copy of that?
fell kinda bad for them, but at least i got the show~

ok so i finished Castlevania: Nocturne and uhhh i guess i take back a lot of what i said

having Juste show up out of nowhere was pretty inspired, and ending the last episode with an Alucard appearance was an obvious but also good choice. i think the flattening of Richter’s abilities into “magic” is fine as it seems like they will be letting him do most of the stuff he does in the games.

basically the last 4 episodes feel like what i wanted from the first 5 episodes. i guess this might be a symptom of how people watch shows these days i.e. binging them

I am a grown ass adult with no children

I went from having never seen Bluey to going “Bluey is a good cartoon” in the space of an hour

It is really good. Far better than it needs to be.

Just watched the first three episodes of Scavengers Reign on Max. Very cool show, great art style (kind of quasi-Moebius) and an intriguing setup story-wise that has me looking forward to next weeks episode.

The premise is some people working on a long haul space freighter hauling stuff to some space colony have been marooned on an alien planet. And the planet is like, really alien. So far all we’ve seen are the equivalent of alien wildlife but there may be more going on than meets eye. Especially with regard to how the humans interact with it. There’s a lot going on there.

Anyway, lots of promise. I hope what they’re developing and setting up all pays off.

I’m absolutely loving Scavenger’s Reign so far. I was worried it was going to be a beautiful bummer but it’s actually just good and beautiful and fascinating.

Started reading the manga for this and it’s pretty good! Looks like the anime corrects the one thing the manga seems to get wrong, especially for a character like Mash - dude has the spindliest legs I’ve ever seen in the comic. CLAMP ass legs on a dude who is shown doing squats.

For most of the comic he’s in his robes and pants but when he does get to put on his gym gear he has some thigh and calf definition that exceeds the usual anime character musculature.

really enjoying these meaty hourlong eps of pluto
they’ve done just fine here i think

Netflix consistently does pretty damn good with original anime (speaking as someone who has never looked at crunchyroll and whose anime consumption is otherwise limited to getting Jojo and Lupin off of Nyaa) and I have to assume it’s because the industry in Japan is such so cash-starved that Netflix is able to pony up and get out of their own way to a degree that their producers clearly aren’t willing or able to do elsewhere

Or maybe their prestige instincts actually help it be a little less inward-looking than normal

yeah at this juncture i have no problem with a non-japanese showrunner ‘meddling’ with the material
