i just watched the first episode of schwarzesmarken, and i enjoyed that. also, therer’s a new season of yami shibai, the best horror anime
whos the audience for this
I am the audience for Sekko Boys
and Teekyu
and Ninja Slayer
Next you’ll ask who Galko is for. I for one respect a show that spends half its running time talking about butt and pubic hair
i can’t believe sekko boys is a real show, it’s like they decided to adapt an absurd tumblr shitpost
I mean, it’s an 8-minute short that’ll run for 12 episodes and be gone forever. Why not make something stupid and absurd that would never fly in a longer/regular time slot? Shorts have produced some pretty good shows lately (Hackadoll is a brilliantly stupid show for something ostensibly advertising a phone app), so I’m all for the nonsense.
Here is cartoon
Why are none of the GeGeGe Kitaro anime series subbed? Yet, all the moe loli trash is easily available. Sigh.
I take it you already know about the recent-ish Hakaba Kitaro, but yeah older series are no go.
Actually had no idea about that one! Probably because the colossal length of other anime adaptations overshadows that entry. Thanks!
Edit: Or well, being the original Kitaro is more likely to be the reason for its lack of visibility.
Dear cartoon thread, I need some opinions
-
Since I haven’t seen GGG Final yet, do I watch the OVAs or the TV version
-
Is Fafner worth a watch because for some reason I have a copy of the movie
-
Give me opinions on Wakfu, which mocks me every time I open Netflix
i’ve only seen some of the first season of wakfu, but i really enjoyed it. the fight scenes with the portals are really cool, the characters are likable, etc.
this was back when it was being fansubbed, so i don’t know how good the english voices are. i loved the french voices though
I thought that, from reading descriptions, that Ojisan and Marshmallow would be a cute little romantic show
Instead, what I got was a comedy short about a girl who wants an innocent older co-worker so goddamn bad, you can feel the thirst coming off your choice of viewing display, like damn girl, slow your roll. Also, who the fuck eats just marshmallows on toast, that’s weird. Anyway, good season for shorts.
This is far in time so somewhat vague, but I remember being surprised how occasionally porn-ish Final OVA was(with GGG being a bona fide thing-for-kids no strings attached), only later I found out the main character designer through the whole franchise was always some pretty famous hentai artist. Haven’t seen TV but my guess is that it would have been toned down in that regard.
Watch Grand Gloruis gathering for the novelty, it was recently subbed, and by a poor madman no less.
I like how Active Raid reminds me alot of Planetes. Just how the whole thing deals alot with working in a restrictive environment and dealing with redtape and finding any loopholes you can. I also enjoy the newbie in a team of weirdoes that are just trying to get a job done dynamic at play.
Galko is a great cartoon about schoolgirls talking about how gross the human body actually is.
Konosuba or gods blessings on the world whatever, is yet another fantasy world that runs on game systems but at least it feels like its trying to take the piss out of that setup at some points like give the characters nothing to do but regular labor for the first ep. It also has a goddess throwing up sparkly rainbow vomit in a back alley which is enough to amuse me.
Dagashi is kinda low stakes fun but has some great characters that blow things out of proportion for the sake of entertainment.
This is feeling like a really fun season to watch cartoons from an eastern country.
I loved Planetes damn it now you’re going to get me to watch an anime again
How do you even watch anime in the year 2016? Do I still have to deal with bittorrent or what
How you watch cartoons depends on how you’re setup at home and how cheap you are
If you have a media server, just steal cartoons (yes, with torrents) and stream locally
If you’re lazy, pony up 7 bucks per service for simulcasting (Crunchyroll, Funimation and/or Hulu Plus, which gets most of the same stuff on a delay)
If you’re cheap, just watch on the internet with ads on a week delay or day-of on sites of questionable legality
Comedy option: Buy physical box sets
I buy Blurays because I am a slave to 24hz
I watched Dagashi because the girl has Yoshikage Kira irises, I’ve probably reached some heights
The other girl has strange eyes too, but no chanches this gonna become a slasher
I watched World of Tomorrow, the newest Don Hertzfeldt short, because why not it’s on Netflix. That was really good. it has the same kind of melancholy as It’s Such a Beautiful Day, but is way funnier and moving to digital production seems to have opened up what he is willing to show. Not necessarily more complicated shots than what he does on/in camera, but more like leveraging the abilities and possibilities of digital art to his own style. It looks really interesting as a result.
Osomatsu-san continues being a funny cartoon with funny drawings and gags and it makes me laugh and I’m kinda embarrassed about it but I’m not afraid to admit enjoying it
@notbov I mentioned this in the news thread in KoP but in case you haven’t checked in, I feel it’s my duty to inform you that an Osomatsu-san otome game has been announced.
