To expand: it’s a clip show, but all presented within the same “world”, from the POV of Armando Ianucci (writer of shows like Brass Eye, The Thick of It/In The Loop, Veep)
Did Angie Tribeca end up being any good? This is the first I’ve heard of it.
Also, Darkplace is now on Amazon Prime.
i liked the first season. forgot it existed after that, hahaha
I’ve watched a few episodes of Angie Tribeca over the past couple weeks.
It really is trying to be a modern Police Squad, and it’s more successful at it than I’d expected. Some jokes are better than others, but they are relentless enough that it’s never too long between the clever ones (if you like that sort of humor, which I do).
Darkplace had a follow-up series called Man to Man with Dean Learner. It’s not as good as Darkplace, but what is
Matthew Holness also did a short film that’s very in keeping with Darkplace
I’ve been gradually making my way through Angie Tribeca and I finished it the other night. (They are only 20 minute episodes and ten to a season but it generally takes me forever to watch any TV show.)
The fourth and final season was quite a bit weaker than the others but it still had its moments. Overall, I liked the show and would recommend it.
I recently learned that there’s also a British Police Squad-type show from a few years earlier (by the Black Mirror guy) called A Touch of Cloth. I may have to give that one a try as well.
I loved this show and am glad to be reminded that it exists again
Now to try this Angie Tribeca thing
