I’ve been playing this again over the past week, after having picked up the PS4 version in a recent sale.
Back when I played the PS3 version, I disabled the songs that I didn’t care for and that left a very limited soundtrack. But on PS4, you can load MP3s from a USB drive in the media player while running the game. That improves the experience a lot, at least for me. I’ve been playing the Sound of Scenesat albums, and I think they are a good fit.

Yeah it’s funny a lot of these songs are nothing I’d listen to out of this very particular context but I sure as hell love them when I’m powersliding around an empty city
Yo, thanks! I probably wouldn’t have realized this was an option and would’ve played the game with no music. Now I can play it with Cruis’n/Daytona USA music!
