Near the end of my year studying at Waseda, a fun conversation I had with a black classmate was finding out how often they were stopped by Japanese cops to ask for proof that they were allowed to be in the country (I, a white man, was never asked for any such thing).

I need to pick that up again, got it as a bday gift in March and enjoyed a wild hour of bashing guards into upbeat tempos
So Steam does allow region locking, and it’s still up in the air if this means we’re getting the SEA english versions here (notable, SD Gundam GGG has a SEA english release for PS4 and PSV, but the later Switch release was Japan only), but I’m happy that Bandai’s finally realising they should sell more of their good Gundam games.

I got randomly stopped and had my bag searched (for drugs i assume) while waiting for a friend at busy akihabara station once. only time i’ve been approached by cops in 6 years though.
I’ll admit i find it hard to say cops here in japan are not “less shitty than american cops” who frequently execute people in the street to 0 effective consequence when japanese cops can lose their jobs for discharging firearms at bona fide violent criminals.
due process is not a thing here and jail and prison are horrible as well, the whole system does seem quite fucked. not denying that. but goddamn, american policing is so beyond the pale it doesn’t feel worth comparing to literally any other stable country

That looks like it’s extremely my shit, damn.
I played this in alpha and Terry has definitely played Dream Quest before!
The game is extremely impressive in its willingness to completely change the rules depending on what mode you’re playing. He programmed so many bespoke systems!
Also the music is pretty manic for a turn-based game but it’s very catchy.
