how much time is dedicated to talking about the first run of n64 carts, whos _wampa__stompa debug code had a ton more options than ones printed later

it sucks because i want this game again, but no sellers know/care whether the debug code will let you change textures/go wireframe/ give position numbers or just give you level skip and whatever weapons you want

i love this game i loved using my chin to enter a code. i name game characters wampa stompa all the time still haha

last night I was trying to figure out if there was a version of this mayflash dongle that worked on both switch and PS4 because I didn’t feel like buying one for either purpose alone and to my surprise I found that there is but it doesn’t seem to exist anywhere other than eBay:

so that was a good find

dongles any other current controller wirelessly

does that mean i can xbone my switch

I will let you know when it arrives but there was already a Magic-S for PS4 and a Magic-NS for Switch which both achieved this and afaik this product just combines them

yeah they’re all like that, it can only dongle one controller at a time in practice on either platform

which is why I initially chafed at $30 but for the dual purpose I’m into it

i got the 8bitdo thing for switch and yeah that works
the giro even works fine on a ps4 controller

we got this game at launch so I wonder if I still have my cartridge… it’s almost certainly one of the first run.

i’ve always wanted to revisit SotE. i remember renting it when it came out and having a really awful time with it. in retrospect, i wonder how much of that was the actual game and how much was my (at that point) unfamiliarity with the N64 controller and moving through 3D space in an action setting. it does indeed look like it was ahead of its time in some ways, based on the DF Retro vid.

enter the code! IF IT WORKS GIVE IT TO ME

the game was neat, it just had BIZARRE controls (like reversing your inputs once you hook a AT AT walker) and some weirdo levels (the junkyard level thats just a boss fight was impossible til i learned the trick)
i should watch the digital foundry video

i went through all of SotE recently (some time in 2018) and it is absolutely fantastic. probably a top 10 N64 game?

it is ridiculously difficult on the harder difficulties, though

big levels are always good, although I think Shadows of the Empire should always be considered next to the much more ambitious Jedi Knight

With the caveat that you need the 2016 or newer Xbone pad with Bluetooth or plug it in to the dongle’s USB A port.

I have used both of these and now I’m mad lol

I think Shadows of the Empire was the first game that I deliberately cheesed my way through every boss fight. No ragrets
