I don’t know if I consider the content of D4 to be a little playing too hard into the Swery persona, per se, but I think it being a Kinect title first and foremost probably led it into some of its weirder and weaker design and writing decisions
except for the catgirl. that’s just weird.
My guess is that Swery’s career arc will end up like Suda’s

I liked most of their Mario Maker levels and the Celeste DLC is wonderfully difficult so I’m the terrible person they’re making levels for!

I played a decent amount of their earlier games (like Jumper and FLaiL) when I was younger so it might be Stockholm syndrome.

You know what one of the few console games that when ported to mobile actually works almost better with touch controls were? ChuChu Rocket! They’re now making a sequel to it for Apple’s upcoming GamePass-like games subscription service.
I just hope it will have something equivalent to the wild 4 player simultaneous multiplayer on a single iPad screen that the original port had.

Kinda derails some of the remaster potency imo
Maybe actually playing it will change this feeling but: Doesn’t seem like FF7. Doesn’t hit my nostalgia strings. Its just like I’m watching some clips from Advent Children or something like that.

gosh I think it looks just great
it’s fleshing out all the most interesting characters and parts of the game, wall market looks like a yakuza chapter, love the turks, love tifa and aeris getting all norwegian wood on cloud, love midgar getting even more time to feel like a real place
I did just watch it muted so maybe that was preferable but I’m about a million times more interested in this than I ever thought I’d be

Yeah to me it looks like the promise of what we’d say in hushed tones in 1997 as far as “these fmvs…one day gameplay will look like this”. Obviously we’re way past that point but I’m totally down.
