This is not a particularly profound thought which is why in putting it in brain garbo instead of a real thread but it did just occur to me that one of the reasons the AI art thing is so spiritually offensive to me is because making art is one of the things automation was supposed to give us MORE time for, not less
… like in the utopian version of technological progress were all supposed to believe machines will replace all human labor and leave us more time for creative endeavors. Obviously that was never going to happen but people turning around and saying "look! Computers can draw now! Get back to work!” is just so evil
