this has nothing to do with the actual visuals but i am reminded of the time i was driving back from an extremely ill-advised 19/20 New Years coast trip and the air was so thick with smoke that we couldn’t see more than a couple yards ahead, but because it would have otherwise been a very sunny day it wasn’t dark but instead a grey so bright it hurt to see. this was fine because the traffic was so packed and slow there was no risk of a crash

this scene is an incredibly strong case for the film (i still haven’t seen it coz it’s hard to track down in AU) but also it’s so good by itself that i don’t even feel that much need to see it y’know
