yeah i explored this in control the body after making games that try to wordlessly teach players things and found it really powerful too. somehow even when someone directly tells you e.g. how a mechanic works, it can still feel like magic to discover and it cuts out all this pretense of the designer trying to force or trick the player into learning it.
