made a map of my buddy moehr’s M2 hack Distress Call:
i made a print of the map of this Duke Nukem 2 level because i like it so much
some classic DOS games have great maps in general. here’s a great one from Duke Nukem 1:
a few Commander Keen maps:
Jill of the Jungle will have like two different maps in the same chunk in ways that are interesting:
i’ve always loved the Wolf3D level editor view also.

here’s the map of the famous Aardwolf maze

I love how the scale of the map goes out of control as you enter Hell. It’s like a manic inversion of Dante insisting on the barometric pressure increasing as you get deeper.
It isn’t all that beautiful maybe but nobody had made maps for Double Dragon IV = p so I gave it a shot. Here’s maybe the most visually interesting one:
I put them together in a guide on Steam – Steam Community :: Guide :: All Mission Maps – and they’re also on GameFAQs https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/203448-double-dragon-iv/faqs .
Lining up 1080p screenshots is a bit laborious; there are still some NES and GB Double Dragon games that haven’t had maps made so maybe I’ll go do those. ; )
Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones for NES is totally linear but I guess I just like that aesthetic so it was an excuse to roll around in it for a bit.
There’s only 5 missions in III, although they’re mostly slightly longer than that one. ^ _^ https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/nes/587238-double-dragon-iii-the-sacred-stones/faqs
Got my Double Dragon (GB)
and Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun: Bangai Rantou Hen (GB)–visually reworked into “Double Dragon II” for the West
–maps done; they’re all up on GameFAQs:
– https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/gameboy/563268-double-dragon-ii/faqs
That’s probably it from me maps-wise for a while, whew!
