I have purchased and put a couple hours into it so far. Not doing as well as I used to on PSP. I’m hoping that’s because I still need to iron out some TV timing wrinkles or just get back into practice, and not the unrelenting ravages of time upon my decroded husk. I used to be able to full-100% Blythe on 4B, now I can only just max combo it.
Seeing all the classic tracks remade for hidef is pretty neat though. I can see myself buying every DLC pack for this game, especially the Clazziquai Edition pack.
Yeah, I want to get it but I don’t know that I’d put in enough time into it right now for the money to be worth It. For some reason I always have this fear that DJMax games will be difficult to find eventually, even if it’s digital only.
Even if you don’t really play it much right away, I’d recommend picking it up when you can if you’re at all interested.
Currently, every track from DJMP 1 and 2 is in the game, as well as a bunch of brand new ones, and DLC packs are coming soon, with the lead dev’s intention being that eventually every track that’s ever been in a DJ Max game will be available in Respect. Also, usability updates have been planned/implemented, so it’s looking like they intend to fully support this thing.
Starting to look like a combination of all three! I found out how to enable “game mode” on my tv (turn off HDR), and also discovered an audio/video delay setting that was set to “70”. I turned that to 0, and now it feels more like it’s my fault when I mess up in the game, which is all I can ask for at the moment, but I do feel like I’m getting back into the swing of things. I’m making incremental progress in the higher button count modes, even in tracks I already know really well.
Luckily there are two ways to get all the unlocks. If you’re a laser-guided superhuman who never misses a single note even on MX charts, you’ll unlock everything fairly quickly, but for those of us with human reflexes, you can also unlock everything just through playing a certain number of tracks.
I picked it up totally unfamiliar with the series and I’m pretty bad at it. Hard to get used to the button layout. Insane amount of content though! Are you basically expected to have a ridiculous 300 dollar controller if you want to play high level stuff?
Why the damn hell ain’t there been a Katamari rhythm game yet? We’re talking about a soundtrack where they got a famous enka singer to rap over some kind of jazz-classical soulpop fusion house track and I have to homebrew up my own bemani solution to this?
It’s really hard to go from 4b to 5, like trying to parse the middle as being able to be Right or Square (and you need to switch between the two depending on what it’s with) is pretty ridiculous.
At my peak, I could handle 4B, 6B, and 8B just fine, but 5B still felt like playing through a mirror with hulk hands on. There’s just something about that middle note.
in all honesty, you might actually have a better time just skipping 5B and going straight to 6.
Finally managed to put a (4B) score on every track yesterday. Man, that took a long time! The base game has 148 songs, which explains its size on disc being, uhhh, huge.
That Clazziquai DLC can’t come soon enough. I’m gonna play Coastal Tempo like 400 times in a row.
Apparently according to a recent interview, neowiz intends on releasing all of the dlc for the Western release at once, and this will happen sometime after the technica dlc launches in Asian territories.
Still no word on the missing tracks from the clazziquai dlc, though.
