Atari 50: Blood on the Sand

As someone who has created a virtual museum exhibition, I am super impressed with this game. This is a really effective and engaging way to present archival documents to tell a historical narrative! My archivist gf and I were getting drunk playing this game and just nerding OUT over it. I wish more libraries, archives, and museums had the kind of budget and know-how to be able to create experiences this polished.

It’s funny, they’ve even harnessed the basest of gamer instincts to incentivize players to go through their whole exhibition – the subtle little sparkly animation that plays whenever you’ve finished looking at a document for the first time. Frantically googling how to get irl artifacts to sparkle when fully intellectually engaged with.
