Are you a "Gamer"?

Post and avatar achieving a kind of stalemate here

More importantly, who here is a TRUE Gamer?

depends on who drinks the most Mountain Dew

There’s a series of photos of me shotgunning a Mountain Dew Gamer Fuel somewhere, but they’re Polaroids so hopefully that balances out.

You can’t just Do the Dew, you have to pair it with Doritos so you can combine the two for double XP, so sayeth His Excellency, the Dewrito Pontiff Keighley

I have never and would never identify as a gamer, unless ironically, the way I would pretend to follow a mainstream sport’s club.
I own and enjoy games and discussions around them however this is just a part of culture. Did people call themselves Opera-goers?

They did, and still do.
People are weird.

I don’t know if I’ll ever drink Mountain Dew again, but Game Fuel is my favorite. It taste like citric acid, which is all I want.

no im not

I’m slowly getting rid of most of my physical game stuff. Don’t use it often enough to keep it in boxes. I hope Goodwill gets some use out of it.

Gamer Shamer

I’m pretty sure I offended a friend by not sharing his enthusiasm for Binfinite. But we cool, I just have to get him going about Kerbal Space Program

agreed, re: citric acid

no sour lolly was sour enough for me as a youth, better to go straight to the source

I found out today that my mom has put in over 1000 hours playing Plants vs Zombies.

I… honestly, I can’t top that. She is definitely a True Gamer.

Sell it to me

Still have a fair amount of stuff. If you’re interested PM me and I can sell it to you. Most valuable things I’ve got are a JP 360 and Senko no Ronde DUO.

I play games. I think that’s enough for me. I can’t make conversation on the minute events that happened in the big AAA games that came out recently because I haven’t bought them, which makes it difficult to answer the question ā€œwell what games do you play?ā€ since there’s this expectation that that’s what the questioner is looking for. It’s the same problem I have when talking about music; I don’t follow top 40 so when I bring up something outside of somebody’s knowledge they either got nothing to say in return and feel awkward or they just make a flippant non-remark and continue on.

It’s a node to say you’ve shared an experience with them and make you feel closer by association but in reality I want to start a discussion on why this game/music/media I’ve consumed has good qualities.
