So the good news once you level the first themed amenities up to 3 is that the next tier of amenities aren’t all completely dependant on cotton–plus, you can always just connect a MyNintendo account to unlock bonus cotton (or other mats) a bunch of times. The bad news is that they start taking a really fucking long time to build. Like, in excess of 40 hours. Unfortunately, I have at least two animals capped at 10 who won’t gain additional relationship XP until I build the appropriate next-tier amenity, and the real bad news is that one is sporty, while one is cute. I feel like this stage of the game makes it much more sensible to keep capped villagers in camp whenever possible, since I’m not playing frequently enough to satisfy more than three in-camp requests per tree cycle, so animals at rec spots tend to earn much more relationship XP than ones in camp do.
