I should try Nanashi no Game.
My memory of Hotel Dusk is the writing is beyond horrible. Just gargbage. I could be wrong.

I’m quite fond of Hotel Dusk as a relaxed noir pastiche that’s happy to hang out. Kind of like Altman’s The Long Goodbye but with a dusty anomie in place of the movie’s angry bite. I’d also compare it to the goals of The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa, though it’s a bit more focused and interested in it form, including novel uses of the DS hardware, and taking a better stab at detective gameplay than Ace Attorney (it’s semi-successful at this).
The developer, Cing, had a few similar easy adventure games from that time. The Wii sequel to Trace Memory/Another Code has a light-touch watercolor look in its backgrounds. It looks like a PS2 game aging especially gracefully.

The ds list I posted has been pretty rough for trying to play & delete all the bad ones. I probably should have winnowed it down more. The wii zeitgeist really did spill over and infect other consoles didn’t it… Good thing I looked at lunatic obscurity and cheered myself up reading about tamsoft-developed simple series games…I gotta go back and get those.
