marble madness is definitely the most perfect isometric marvel of all time, but i dream of one day making a little game/toy that combines A-Train

with tactics ogre (specifically the psp one where u can rotate the beautiful little diorama levels)

That pre-rendered isometric look is what made me start collecting physical copies of PC games.

There’s so many. Even trash makers Mirage made two.

Makes me want to make a sprite-based EDF game.

I guess there’s a difference to be made between the pre-rendered stuff and the tile-based boxy sprites…

I also remember owning Monster Max on the GB as a child and not being able to get far in it.

The great escape made me think of the last ninja. I feel like it was hard to make traditionally “lovely” games on c64 so I give the last ninja points for that

The double layer of cultural interpretation is pretty interesting. “A NINJA, the legendary Japanese icon… in NEW YORK, the famous filming location!”

Hakoniwa Explorer makes me wish it wasn’t a game apparently mostly about hitting underage butts and making crude sex jokes. Because damn, otherwise looks like extremely my shit.
