ACTION 5 NEWS with Chuck Scarsdale

sounds like suda and swery need to be punished for 10 years before they are allowed to make another game

They don’t even make grasshoppers and their name is grasshopper manufacture. sus

I’ve never even played a Swery game but I am so bored to tears with his ā€˜inspired by Twin Peaks’ for literally everything

No More Heroes 3 owned and The Good Life was an astounding ā€œVideo Games Can Be About Anythingā€ game in the bad way.

So uh…I’ll wait till I see literally anything about this game.

I still haven’t played nmh3 because i lost all interest hearing him talk about how it was going to be freaking epic like AVENGERS ENDGAME and the idea of having to play a suda action game on the fucking switch for that to be the payoff made me fill with resentment

the thing that makes me most curious about nmh3 is that the people who love it never say anything about it… a mystery

but my hands hurt thinking about it yeah

I noticed this too, I think it’s down to a broader pattern of most of the past couple years’ worth of switch sequels (this, Bayonetta, xenoblade, megaten, etc) all being objectively good but totally superfluous

Okay.

I’ve now heard one person talk about story stuff a little bit! less of a mystery!

(I was pretty down in april and not reading the forum enough, my bad)

I do feel like I learned more about you than the game there though

Intentional and unintentional TSA’s a good exogesis of the man known as Suda51’s body of work.

NMH3 was the second thing in a relatively brief period of time that made me think I should get into Ultraman, and that turned out cool.

Good News It Is Now On Everything.

Im too tired but nmh3 enjoyed. TSA is great, fave game of the last 5 years. But im a mark

It was a pretty good joke that TSA was advertised as suda’s Epic Return To Video Games and 90% of that game is travis being even more of a depressed loser than he was in the last two games.

I’ve been so exhausted by the ubiquity of ā€œInspired by Twin Peaksā€ that I don’t even want to watch the show, tbh

Did anyone post this, I love a weird asymmetrical multiplayer thing

A personal fave is Spy Fiction which is instead ā€œinspired by Mission Impossible by way of Hitman and MGSā€, in an endearing falling-shot-of-expectations way yet with a precious few couple flashes of genius, including some really glaring inconsistencies that are both kinda bad writing and actually justified by an optional plot twist that’s pretty hard to trigger but will be outright given to you on a new game plus just so the budget doesn’t go to waste.

The thing that makes me the most sad about the ā€œinspired by twin peaksā€ thing is that part of what makes the show so great is the premise is basically ā€œwhat if the most normal thing in the world (soap operas) was weirdā€ . But then in the wake of that influence it’s just ā€œhere is the one correct way to make stuff 'weirdā€ like at least links awakening was inspired by twin peaks in a very oblique way. It has all been downhill since then

I feel like I’m sort of the inverted Swery fan because I thought Deadly Premonition totally sucked ass but The Missing and The Good Life kinda owned tbh.
