A Poster played The Dangan Ronpa Series Tonight

Hey I never wrote a big post about the last chapter which well I wanted to process it and after talking with Tigresss turns out I am still processing it and to give my thoughts now would be an injustice to just how deep and entertwined the themes are.

But that they threaded the needle for 2 of “what is a sequel to DR1” and the for V3 “what is a sequel to 1 and 2” and they are commentary and they are video game style echoing of previous themes (which I am by blowing a skirt but is a uniquely video game art talent.) Pretty great thing that has only grown me to appreciate 1 and 2 more.

3 is almost twice as long as the first one so I think you’re right

The pacing of 3 didn’t irritate me much but since it’s taken me years to get through the first two chapters it’s probably kept me from getting hooked. Just hard to get hyped for yet another explanation of the murder game while also knowing the endgame is probably gonna be more teasing of a half-baked Grand Conspiracy that I have zero interest in.

I mean V3 is longer but it didn’t feel padded to me? It just felt like most of the cases had more complex stuff going on than before. Streams ‘hours played’ says it took more time but I didn’t really notice it.

I haven’t played any of these games and went “how long could a game like this really be?” and looked it up and screamed in horror.

It didn’t feel that long as I played it for two hours a night for a month.

Yeah like it’s 40 hours except most of that time is talking, examining clues, and doing class trials.

It’s extremely dense, but also fits into bite sized chunks really well.

Also I suspect most of the websites are including the postgame mode, the actual main story is 30-40ish on it’s own and is fine.

The first two are like, 15-30ish.

This is what I saw for reference:

Rudie, my friend bought me Dang Old Grandpa for my birthday, so guess I’m gonna play this some at some point.
