Maybe there was some grunge/gearhead crossover in the early aughts.
Still at it with the Silvia in the 80s sportscar cup in Seattle. I can’t beat the damn panda Trueno. But it’s fun flying next to your FC buddy.
Last turn in the second lap. Whoops!
homie you gotta downscale that shit please it’s so ugly play it at 480 please
I’m afraid it can really only look good on a CRT.
It looks great at 480i through the RetroTink!
If only I could use my G29 with the PS2. Or can I?
Anything is possible with a soldering iron, spare parts, and enough determination!
The Brook USB fightstick adapter I use to play with my PS4 stick on PS2 did claim to support at least some steering wheels! (edit: or at least I thought it did but can’t find proof anymore?)

Half a bar of boost, intake/exhuast/tune, a weight reduction, and some sports tires made me competitive. And the prize is 5,000 credits per race in the Yaris Vitz only beginner race. This little pink street fighter will be my money maker for now.
iirc, there is a Vitz race/cup where you can win the Altezza 200 or 300, or even the GT racecar version of it?
I remember grinding this cup/races a bit to win the race car tezza, which gave access to another race where you could win the Supra JGTC Castrol-liveried GT500 version, which cracked the game wide open… and with that Supra, you could quickly win the Lister Storm V12 or grind $$$ for it, which gave you access to races against the R390 GT1 and the Toyota GT One TS020… if you avoided/restarted the races, you could get the Belgian GT1ish car (Vertigo? Something similar like that …) instead of the GT One, and a C5.R or Viper GTS-R on the grid, and that meant that the Storm could beat the opposition, which gave you access to all the money you needed.
That was the quickest route i found by blasting through 2.5 savefiles, and when i see the Yaris/Vitz, i often think of how it opened the path to the top… good times. Youth is wasted on the young, but it led me here, so that’s also good, huh.
The Vitz Championship prize car ended up being an identical pink Vitz
With my winnings I bought a 2000 SVT Cobra R
Back when I was younger, I didn’t think much of any Mustang. But the cobras are pretty potent machines. It was enough to easily win the “Stars and Stripes” races against some pretty tough company.
Then I brough it to the NA-only races where the lineups were just embarrassing.
PT Cruisers, Miatas, and even Vitzes lined up against a 390hp Mustang. At least we won a Samba Green Del Sol!
That white Cobra looks a bit baffled in that shot, probably because it lost to a 'stang?
Starting to suspect car racing is just a scam.
no wonder that Forza Motorsport felt the need to have dayglow red braking rotors even if you just dabbed on the brake pedal for half a second, diversification above all!
also, poor S2000 getting two bodychecks in the first lap, but recovers nicely and even crept back up to the extremely pesky Team Sunrise FD. (n.b. that FD was on fire, wow, the aggressive stance of its darty front could be seen by the lines it could take, that looked like an MH at times )
That is some prime quality agri-racing.
I forgot that the harder races in GT3 essentially become bumper cars if you actually want to be competitive. I will never drive like a gentleman in an old GT game.
Sucker stalked me like a shark the whole time!
