i had a silly idea about doing a 15 big ones for all my favorite bands like the beach boys album but then i was like how the fuck can i narrow half my bands down to 15 so i decided on 20 instead. this thread is for beach boys but im working on some other bands okay remember when i used to listen to other music? that’ll happen again. maybe someday, not right now though right now i am pure brianista. thank you for your tribute
my rules for no reason was no pet sounds and no smile because thatd just be everything. its really hard to exclude anything from those albums okay!! plus like we’ve all heard em right? right. we’ve heard enough of them at least. plus brian wilson solo stuff is okay because of my little problem

idk how to respond to this cuz my favorite beach boys song is “surf’s up” but my favorite version is from the smile sessions and my second favorite is “wouldn’t it be nice” which is definitely from pet sounds … i’m too dumb a girl to reconcile this how would a smart girl do it… let me ask the smart girl understander himself
this is not my favorite beach boys song. it is, in fact, terrible. feels kind of like dying in a bog to listen to. but it is about the place where i live and i hope the salt lake sb meetup played it at least once

@vodselbt asked me about if there were any playlists for pre-pet sounds beach boys and i couldnt vouch for a single one cuz they all have surfin safari and fun fun fun on them. those songs sound like clocking into the song factory, which is the worst part of their early career IMO. i dont like any of the songs that sound they’re showing up to do a job! i lied to @SLUGGER at the meetup. well not lied but i gave her a wrong answer. i said i dont like the car songs but thats not true. car songs are fine. i just want them to sound like they’re having a blast or about to cry their eyes out
