10,000 Bulletins: No One Can Stop the Presses! (Part 1)

I recently read about the Elite 1 controller having stick replacements that are of different lengths and apparently the longest one gives the most control for aiming in FPSs and such. This is old news to everyone except me of course but hey

I really would like a new controller but it’s got to be a DS4 with adaptive triggers, back pedals and longer analog stick replacements and that doesn’t exist. It’s kinda like how I want my next monitor to be 4k HDR Gsync 144hz or whatever newfangled thing they come up with that no graphics card can power anyway.

You can find Dualshock 4 mods to replace the analog stick & dome; I swapped mine for metal sticks which help with friction against the edges (yay!) but just have metal tops (boo!).

…looking it up, I can see stick kits for the PS4 that even mimic the stick replacement feature

or you could be this dude

Hmm, yeah I think I can get everything except for adaptive triggers - which won’t be of any use on PC for a while anyway. My girlfriend is planning to get a PS5 eventually, so I’ll end up with a DualSense sooner or later but the stick drift problem worries me. Oh well

Do they have the DS4 back button attachment in your market? It doesn’t need any additional driver support because there’s a screen on the attachment itself.

I think I can get it, yeah. I’m a bit confused by it because it’s just two extra buttons instead of 4 like on Xbox?? There is a wish.com back button attachment that has 4 but I don’t want to get that and find out it’s crap. It looks like crap, anyway!

I think I’ll probably get a customized Scuf controller if I can afford it in the near future. Those look pretty well thought out

News for only me but NGDev have announced they are working on another switch game. Unclear if this is another port or something else.

Let me know what it’s like. I’m interested in it but have no apple products

it’s funny how this finally happened just as rpcs3 got netplay when vf5 is already one of the easiest games to emulate (though its implementation of shader caching is hell on input timing)

Hinge Problems will update everyone on this as it unfolds (play Gunlord).

I found a grandfather clock and it didn’t have an elixir in it, 0/10

more as it develops

update: there was, however, an elixir hidden in an alley accessible from a door right next to the clock. I can only assume this was on purpose. 5/10

this game is pretty damn goofy. they got items hidden all over the place in this first town area, and wherever there isn’t an item there’s a cat or a bird. the game is full of cats and birds. the story stuff is mostly done with text against static illustrations instead of in engine, which seems like a bit of a waste if you’re putting all this effort into these cool dioramas. but hey, who am I? the text tends to float around or enlarge random words like so

it’s no l i t t l e m o n e y, but it has some of that vibe

the battles are battles. it’s 2021 and these things are random and the game don’t give no fucks about it. I guess eventually you get that weird battle banking feature, but I don’t have it yet. I don’t really mind the random battles, but if the game is long enough I’m sure I will. it sure feels final fantasy, though, the first boss even has a kind of sort of gimmick to it. you play a mildly surly amnesiac anime boy. The Girl joins your party because you smell nice, just like in the clas—wait, what?

the music ain’t bad. based on the trailers I was prepared for some combination of uematsu phoning it in and randomly indulging his inner prog rock nerd, but so far we’re pleasant enough.

it all feels breezy. I’m playing with a DS4 on an ipad, while poking the screen now and again in menus just because. the game lets you do that without stopping and shifting the entire control scheme every time like some games do

I somehow don’t think Uematsu would ever phone it in but maybe I’m just not familiar enough with him. He’s been going hard ever since he was a Noobuo
