10,000 Bulletins: No One Can Stop the Presses! (Part 1)

the original 3ds has some of the worst face, shoulder, and select buttons on a handheld, and THE worst d-pad ever manufactured

the ONLY reason my og3ds has a usable dpad is because I played a hundred hours of Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition which physically loosened it about as bad as an N64 stick gets after sneezing on it

I don’t know if the PS5 will get a slim version. The thing is so big because it needs space to move air through it so it can stay cool without having a loud fan blasting non-stop. Maybe they’ll be a slim version at some point but I don’t see it significantly reducing the size overall.

The main reason I tend to favor playing things on my Xbox vs. my PS4 is the Xbox is just quiet. Even when the fan is running and it’s putting out a lot of heat it’s still barely audible. Meanwhile if I’m playing something like Spider-Man or Horizon on PS4 the noise from the fan often overpowers the speakers on my tv. Sony and Microsoft noticed this and that’s why they both made big boxes that are as quiet as possible.

I haven’t got either of the new consoles yet and don’t know when I will but I want both. I don’t know either if I should get one next year or try to wait until the mid-generation refresh (assuming there is one) and get that version. Probably smart either way to wait as long as possible just to see if there aren’t any problems with either box that crop up by then.

yeeaahhhh but 1) that’s in 2020, in 2022 they can just make the thing on 5nm instead of 7 and that won’t be true anymore, and 2) if people complain about the size sony will absolutely cram the thing in a small body with a jet engine if they need to just to say they did it

Can they just make one the same size that doesn’t look like a late-stage building from Sim City 2000

The new Destiny raid has a perfect moment halfway through. Spoilers, obviously.

This is after you take launch pods from the underground cyborg-making bunker to the space station where you vent the alien ghosts through an airlock and before you stop the station’s core from going critical while the AI initiates a colony drop.

I’m very triggered by the gravity not being towards the neighbouring planet. All it’d have taken is rotating the skybox a bit!

Totally assumed this game came out like 4 years ago

“There isn’t anyone one thing that I can point at for why it took so long,” said Cobb in a recent interview with VICE Games.

What what?

overscoped in every dimension, every element of the game was way too big

it’s not ‘level 4’ or ‘the graphics’ it’s just a soundly screwed production

production management is underrated

So is copyediting, if the quoted text is anything to go by

Kinda wish the actual style of the game followed the little stage diorama setup. Not sure if it’s just how narrative will be presented.

I feel like we haven’t had many games attempt that style in a while. Not since Puppeteer or Black Knight Sword.

Copyediting barely exists for most media now. Paid writing gigs barely exist, let alone editors. It’s a shitshow!

cool to think that there actually used to be well paid staff writers at multiple successful local news papers in every major us city and now slightly upwards of a dozen people are making above minimum wage writing for a living

just not enough writers with bootstraps to pick themselves up by. back in the day, we all had bootstraps. kids these days are too busy with the sjw agenda to will a job market into existence in the face of an intractably declining economy for people who weren’t able to buy stocks in 1980

Feel like I can’t trust trailers almost at all anymore, and I know documentary film is kind of in a really bad place right now, but I honestly would love to have a good documentary or book about Midway. Maybe this is it?

You can buy a ticket and watch it streaming through some small theatres right now: https://www.insertcoindoc.com/screenings
