I liked the bit where you can pick up a phone and hear Thom Yorke’s weird little wail from The National Anthem.
apparently it was supposed to be an actual exhibit at the V&A Museum or elsewhere, but because of the pandemic they decided to design this instead. seems like an upgrade, honestly!
i’ve played several “virtual gallery” type games either just from browsing itch.io or judging and i honestly think it’s an underrated genre. so i’m glad Radiohead did something like that. and there’s no skeevy NFT bullshit or VR-only requirements or whatever. and it’s free so that’s cool (at least for the next few days… maybe it won’t be after that?)
Did you see they also did promotions for Rocket League, Fortnite, and Fall Guys?
A Radiohead flag for Rocket League, a lobby song for Fortnite (Untitled v1), and in Fall Guys you get to play as the crying minotaur lol
lmao i thought you were joking… but no.
i’m just going to guess that the devs were the ones who wanted this, because that is such a bizarre cross-over given the player base of Fall Guys… lmao.
liz i would never joke about the crying minotaur!!
hey it’s that guy I work with
the VR version of this gallery is pretty neat, recommended if you have the kit

Fuck they’re finally gonna get me with this one, I have unbelievably powerful nostalgia for Crono Cross
Weird, overambitious, gorgeous, great soundtrack, I can’t forget those BLUE SKIES and the island vibe
I traded in my N64 for a PlayStation to play it. I remember the trip to the mall to get it, my mom had to come in with me because I was but a tween. She couldn’t leave the dog in the car and was chided by mall security for holding her quietly, which the goth kids by the fountain thought was bullshit
We used to go to my grandparents house every Sunday night for dinner, I remember getting in trouble for bringing it and playing it alone in the basement the whole time
The soundtrack was maybe the first music I actually liked? Almost surely the first music I pirated and burned on a CD. I had them up until the CD wallet under the seat of the car got stolen after I moved to Seattle. (They took fucking everything! Even the owners manual! They popped the blank covers off of everything, even pulled out the AC duct under the seats!)
I really hope this isn’t completely awful
If it’s a FFVII style remake then that will be two classic PS1 jrpgs we get to re-experience in bits and pieces for the next three decades.
I’ll be retired by the time the final piece comes out.
already writing fanficiton in my head of what an updated element grid would look like i need to stop im too excited for this shit
like between this and zeal being in endwalker… be still my fangirl heart
Chrono Cross is extremely PS1 in practice and if I were remaking it I would try to keep the graphics and music exactly the same but way tighten up the battles and writing. pretty sure that’s not what’s gonna happen
I replayed the first 10 hours or so of Chrono Cross a couple months ago and I think it really holds up far better than you’d assume. I was having a grand old time with it. What other media has anything like its morose goofiness? Looks like I’m leaving that run unfinished and starting over with whatever this is gonna be, and I don’t even mind. I totally thought Square was never going to acknowledge Chrono Trigger or Cross ever again!
The Atari that makes NFTs now owns Mobygames.
Not sure if this is the same Atari that’s pretending to build a hotel.
“Charlie Day, who’s playing Luigi, actually comes from Italian heritage. Yeah so that’s our nod.”
