i mean the thrust of the video is that the innovation does not actually work in the context of making the game better but it is interesting enough for me to want to see what an expensive version of a roguelike character thing might look like one day

Yeah I wasn’t meaning to imply that I think Legion is actually worth it even at half price. Just that was something I noticed earlier today.
Sounds like the age old problem of AAA. That being the game designers too often leave the task of implementing their innovations in interesting or meaningful ways up the player.

All the talk in the Cyberpunk thread about game scope reminded me about Watchdogs Legion, and how every time I hear about it I think a lot of these system-heavy open world games (which maybe are just the Ubisoft games) would probably be better with Hitman-style playgrounds than a giant open world where the world design just spirals out of control. Watchdogs Legion sounds like it has interesting ideas that will never work in the current open world design model.

Massive update to Stardew Valley, feels like a continuation of Terraria with all this content adding.
Along with this, Steam is selling it at 33% discount if you’ve haven’t picked it up yet.

They shipped out the first batch to backers.
Pre-orders are open for the second batch, expected to ship in April.
It doesn’t work with the Mega SG. Maybe Analogue will fix that.

stardew valley needs an i’m a vampire mode that has it so the townspeople gradually die off of old age after a while and new people replace them including new people to marry. i also want to be able to marry a trashcan.
