I don’t think I ever noticed that the village is actually visible in this original opening shot so I guess making that more clear actually is an improvement? I always did think them just looking into a chasm was a bit odd.
…Is there supposed to be a lake at the top of the cliff there?
i guess i don’t hate the way it looks, but it does lose a bit of the aesthetics and the sense of scale is totally different (in that shot at least).
i sort of feel like with FPGA stuff more-readily available, it’s the way to go if you want to replay these games on a modern display. maybe that’s not realistic for everyone, but seeing companies continually George Lucas their way through rereleasing older work is grating to me
I’ll play 3 and I’ve been itching to play 4 lately anyway but those old sprites are so burned into my brain that there should at least be an option to go with those
The new ones are too light, not substantial enough
“We have been providing unique entertainment content and ways to enjoy it through the use of information technology… We look forward to combining Bloober Team’s and our respective characteristics and strengths to create high-quality contents… the core company of Konami Group, develops entertaining content…”
I hate Bloobus Team games a lot and reading this has strengthened my cynicism about them. It would be terribly funny if we end up getting a Silent Hill entertainment content from this pairing, it would be so fucking stupid.
I have no idea why Silent Hill fans remain optimistic about a new Silent Hill. I told some Discord a few months back that the only way they’re getting a new Silent Hill is if it’s some pachinko nonsense or a cash-in on the name farmed out to a developer you don’t give a shit about. I don’t know why people continue to give Konami the benefit of the doubt as if they’re the same company they were 25 years ago.

All RPGs should allow you to play them with just your left hand.
i was about to come here to post that. Secret Agent was one of the few of the Apogee games i actually got my parents to send out a mail order for the full game of. i definitely liked a it lot more than Crystal Caves. but yeah… weird (but kinda cool) to see!
