I mean they are Queen + Green Day. I pretty much just like “Helena”, “Not Okay” and (Oh God Now Classic Rock Album Oh God Age Comes For Us All) The Black Parade Album.
Three cheers has it’s ups and downs but The Black Parade is all time
I have also been listening to this song a lot for the past couple of days
I guess this mariachi Zeromus arrangement has now become a song of the moment for me as well:
And I’ve found myself returning to this video several times since catching up on this thread the other night:
Edit: That mariachi group is performing live on Tuesday.
Damn the music I was an edgy 90’s teen to.
the full album comes out later this week, i’m so hyped
Speaking of
this rly grew on me. luv all the corny lines
RIP Bill Reiflin
(and damn, belatedly Francesca Sundsten)
Man. He worked on so much stuff I was into, and I only vaguely remember his name in the credits.
It’s… a little weird to see his list of bands, as it’s all this industrial metal stuff—Ministry, KMFDM, 1000 Homo DJs, Pigface, NIN, Revolting Cocks, then… a long span as Bill Berry’s replacement with R.E.M. (?!)
Sort of makes sense he’d wind up with King Crimson in the end.
His name just often stuck to some of my favorite tracks, Disobedience like I posted even has a mostly straightforward beat - but that more " organic tightness" always hit me. Following Wax Trax artists and all collaborative branches, very memorable phase-era.
I guess there was a label thing going on with that bunch, wasn’t there!
swans, too
rem kinda makes sense when you go from ministry and kmfdm to swans’ The Great Annihilator and Soundtracks for the Blind, the angels of light’s We Are Him, etc. and then rem around the early and mid '00s
the early 2000s rem stan has arrived
rip bill
ah yes, the table wine of r.e.m. eras
Now imagining a JG Thirwell cover of this.
woke up thinking of this
how did i not hear about thundercat
Thundercat’s great! He started in music playing bass for Suicidal Tendencies then went on to do work on To Pimp a Butterfly then yeah there’s Drunk
