I got tickets to see Stereolab later this year! So I’m diving into parts of their discography I’ve never heard before.
I’d never listened to Sound Dust before but this album’s sound is hitting this perfect mid-point between Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night and Dots and Loops. Heck yeah! Album art doesn’t describe it accurately at all, this is sumptuous music. Love the moment at 1:40 when the song explodes out of its gothic psychedelic intro into something that sounds like a magical candy shop or something.
If you want some effects soaked guitar BGM, this is about as good as anything, start to finish.
