For some reason, the YouTube algorithm was on a “people reacting to Larry Bird” kick, which got the song I-76 by G. Love and Special Sauce stuck in my head.
Almost every G. Love and Special Sauce song essentially boils down to “It’s your boy G. Love out here at the Meijers just Philly representin’ even though I’m down and out here in Michigan”. Exhibit two: here’s a song G. Love didn’t write and he still works “Philly” in there. At the very beginning. I feel like the biggest affront to Garret Love would be misidentifying him as anything other than “Philly born”.

i don’t know what tony leung chiu-wai is doing in this video but it seems appropriate given the k-pop industry’s fascination with the films of wong kar-wai. like yeah i guess i would probably also have this reaction to spotting a Great Living Actor at a crosswalk too. i thought it was neat they shot a music video with anamorphic lenses…
