Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer are the party. What are their roles? Neuman’s a mini-boss, obviously, and then later on a friend but only temporarily. Gamers complain because it’s a complex, 80+ hour story that isn’t actually about anything. Or maybe that’s what they love most about it?
For the record, I like Okami but I’ve never played it past the first several hours. I have it on PS4 and want to go back to it at some point though. I don’t know if I’ll ever finish it. More games need to do cool art styles damn it!
I think that was probably the canvas filter/overlay which is important in giving the PS2 that look of being a moving painting. And also helped enhance the bloom. That canvas effect was significantly dialed back in some of the later versions. However, I believe the current gen ports now have a slider, so that you can tune it to your preference.
There are probably still some small differences. As the PS2 version’s source code was lost after Clover shut down. The ports were reverse engineered from a PS2 disc and supplemented by re-making a lot of stuff by hand.
Okami is poisoned for me because it was provided to me by a friend during a period in which I realized he had a crush on me but I had too much sympathy for his social awkwardness to reject him properly yet, so any joy I could have gotten from it was undercut by the social complexity which would ensue from any positive or negative response I made to the game itself, all of which was further compounded because I didn’t want to comment in such a way that seemed like a comment on or a condemnation of his identity as a furry
Godspeed wolf-identifying fella, wherever you are. Sorry I couldn’t like your game more.
waiting for night to fall so i can finish the first wanted list. this shit is actually insufferable until you get the ability to turn day to nite. i always forget where all of them are no matter how many times i’ve played this. lately i’ve been playing this when xiv is under maintenance so i’m not as enthused as usual.
