I incidentally think increasing reliance on middleware is slowly destroying the internet. there are benefits to operating close to the metal and doing things yourself.
if I was really bonkers I’d buy a server and host it from my house, and then this app would have zero external dependencies. we have fast fiber internet here so it’d probably run fast enough, though my ISP might get mad at me.
